IN Bengal " Machli Jhol ki Rani Hain "

I read this line but not remember the poet name.
But he told the right thing. We bangali love mach bhat.

This spicy Catfish curry(Tengra macher jhal)  is a massive hit amongst Bengalis.
Prepared with freshly grounded spices, the gravy is thick and full of flavours. The red chillies bring out a fiery taste in the curry. It is best enjoyed hot with plain steamed rice.
Not only this , Our famous Hilsa fish.
Ilish Macher Jhol: This dish is prepared withHilsa fish in Mustard oil which leaves a tingly flavour in the mouth. You can make it with any thing. We don't mind at all. Fish is our love.
Bengalis have an undying love for Biriyani too.
I am not speaking of the ones other states have to offer. I am talking about the pale yellow colored, potato infused with a big piece of chicken or mutton, saffron smelling Biriyani.
We Bengalis wait for that lazy Sunday afternoon to gorge on the home made Mutton gravy and rice. We love every assortment of chicken dishes as well. And, something we never forget to do. We end our meal either with huge rasgullas or Mishti Doi(a form of sweet curd).
This is something which cannot be replicated. Not in a hundred years.
We  Bengalis are not crazy fish eaters. But yes, our love for fish knows no bounds.
