Opar Bangla

As I am mix of the blood of different countries ,I love the taste of two different country's food.
My grand parents were from Bangladesh (known as opar bangla). Kumilla and Noyakhali also share
two different food culture . Lets see some.

Amar thakuma ar maa special ranna: (foods coming from my mother and grandmother's kitchen)

Dinner is as important as lunch for a Bangladeshi family. Usually almost every family takes food as same their lunch items in dinner. Presence of rice is must in dinner plate . They usually take plain rice in dinner. Basically, Rice is eaten with two or three items.(In my childhood I was taking rice three times in  a day.) These items are prepared with vegetables, Bhaji, fish/ meat, dal and bhorta etc. Let’s see how they eat these foods.

Singara:
Singara is spiced potato pockets wrapped in thin dough and fried. It is really tasty and inexpensive snack that you can find anywhere.

Dallpuri:
Dallpuri is a popular and common item as snakes contain dall(pulse) covered with specially prepared flour paste fried in hot oil. Sometime it contains potato in lieu of pulse.

Chana chaat:
Chickpeas mixed with chopped onions, tomatoes, and spices often topped with popped rice and fried vegetables.

Pitha:
A fried snack almost like small pancakes made from rice flour. Can either be eaten straight or covered with ghur (syrup made from the sap of date trees) for breakfast.

Sutki Mach /Dry fish:

Dry fish can use to make bhorta or sabji. Take it with gorom dhoa utha sada vath(hot plain rice) .Nothing can beat it.
Be careful while making. For many people they cannot handle the smell.:)
